One Belgian, Valère Burnon, is taking part in the semi -final of the Queen Elisabeth competition for piano this year. Together with 23 others, Burnon fights for a final place. The organization of the competition announced the list of candidates on Saturday evening.

The first two perform a Mozart concerto. They are accompanied by the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie led by Vahan Mardirossian. After the break, two other pianists present their recitals, consisting of works of their choice and the compulsory unpublished work, ‘Two Studies for Piano’, written especially for this session by the Canadian composer Ana Sokolović.
