On World Book Day, the Cervantes Institute organizes its traditional reading


On the occasion of April 23 – World Book and Copyright Day, the Cervantes Institute in Sofia organizes its traditional public reading. It will be held in the so -called « Cervantes » space – Sofia, 3 St. Sofia Str., 11am to 2pm. Entrance is free to fill the seats.

Miguel Alonso Berio – Ambassador of Spain to Bulgaria, will give rise to the event, reading an excerpt of his choice. The excerpts selected by other Spanish -speaking representatives in Bulgaria will also be presented.

« All interested ones can come to the Cervantes-Sofia Institute and share with the audience a brief excerpt of their choice from the great variety of Spanish literature. Readers can use the library fund if they do not have their own book, » the event organizers said.

All readers will receive one rose, according to a beautiful tradition in the Catalonia area, where World Book Day is celebrated with a rose and a book. It is from Catalonia that the holiday comes from – on April 23, St. George the Victorious Day, a book is traditionally presented.
