The trade unions are preparing for what is already the 21st strike day at the track this year. The youngest series of actions initially only assumed ACOD Spoor and ACV Transcom, but in the end VSOA Spoor, OVS and ASTB also joined. The five unions also campaigned last Tuesday and also plans strikes on 22 and 29 April.
The NMBS always develops an adapted timetable based on the working -will staff. During the 24 -hour strike that starts on Monday evening at 10 p.m., the majority of the trains will just ride. That is the case for seven in ten IC trains between major cities and six in ten local L-trains and sub-city S-trains. There will be few rush -hour trains (p) tracks.

With the actions, rail staff protest against a series of reforms that the federal government wants to implement. This includes an increase in retirement age, more flexibility for the rail employees, savings at the railway and a reform of HR Rail, the legal employer of the rail staff.
The managements of HR Rail, rail network manager Infrabel and the NMBS regret « that the traveler is the victim again » of the umpteenth strike that comes « despite different reconciliation meetings, » it says. « The strike burden becomes unbearable for travelers, the work -wedding and many other economic and social actors. »
