On the occasion of the Medical Workers’ Day, LSMU Kaunas Hospital honored the most deserving staff

LSMU Kaunas Hospital is one of the largest medical institutions in Lithuania: hundreds of thousands of patients are consulted and treated every year in its units, and more than 3 thousand people provide assistance to them. employees. Recently, the hospital has been on the path of major changes, which has been reflected in nominations.

The community has come together in awards

LSMU Director General of Kaunas Hospital prof. dr. Diana Žaliaduonytė thanked the LSMU Kaunas Hospital staff for her sincere work, wished love and communion: “We are glad that we can enjoy what we have achieved last year. For our large community, communion: that we would grow, grow on the path of the hospital on the path of the hospital, and, if necessary, extend a helping hand to each other. ”

A whole bunch of guests gathered to greet the staff. LSMU Rector prof. dr. Rimantas Benetis emphasized that the hospital’s place in the university strategy was extremely important and thanked the employee service and sacrifice. Kaunas District Vice Mayor Laurynas Dilys was delighted with a close partnership with the hospital, the common plans for the future and stressed that the doctors are contributing to the better world.

Commissioner Remigijus Stukas, Chief of the Public Order Board of the Kaunas County Police Headquarters, said that both police and medical work is a mission and well when it is performed by people from vocation. Arūnas Bučnys, Director of LSMU Gymnasium, thanked for the beautiful cooperation, support and example of the younger generation.

Values ​​-based awards

Hospital staff provided colleagues for nominations based on hospital values: professionalism, collaboration and patient orientation. Both medical and non -medicine units claimed the awards, as the contribution of all hospital staff to the provision of quality services to patients is important.

The year initiative award for continuous service development and active involvement in hospital activities went to the therapy day inpatient (hippodromo st. 13). Here, patients undergo necessary blood and diagnostic (radiological) tests, medical treatment, and, if necessary, specialist consultation, rehabilitation procedure and condition. The range of services is constantly expanded: 2024. Provocative allergic samples and overheating cardiac echoscopy have been started. Services are also planned this year – as early as May 5th. The therapy day inpatient in Šilainiai (Josvainių g. 2) is opened.

Edvin Dainis, the head of the Surgery Division (Josvainių g. 2), went to the Mentor Award for the support, training and encouragement of the young generation of doctors. E. Dainius and the team take care of a whole group of surgery internships at Kaunas Hospital LSMU. The doctor is constantly improving himself by participating in Lithuanian and foreign conferences, teaching at the LUHS Surgery Clinic and preparing a doctoral dissertation.

The year change award went to the Orthopedic Traumatology Clinic and the Department of Internal Diseases for the quick and successful transfer of services to new premises. The Orthopedic Traumatology Clinic moved from the unit of the Freedom Avenue to the newly built housing in Šilainiai (Josvainių g. 2), and the Division of Internal Disease to the adjacent building Baltijos str. 120. In just a few days, moving equipment, items and renovation services was a major challenge and the departments were well handled with it.

The latter nomination is also related to the « Assistance of the Year » award, with the Infrastructure Unit for significant help with colleagues during major changes and continuous infrastructure improvement, which delights both patients and employees.

Vytautas Vytautas Venclovas, an orthopedic traumatologist, was elected in the category of the year in the category of a doctor in the category of physician for professionalism and sincere care of patients’ welfare. The doctor specializes in the area of ​​the shoulder joint and knee in cross -ligament surgery and is constantly improving his abilities.

Marijona Pagirgėlienė, Assistant Nurse of the Reanimation and Intensive Care Unit (Josvainų g. 2), won the Professional Award in the Nursing Category. It was presented for loyalty to the organization, caring for patients and the first step in the hospital’s position in the hospital. She was the first in this unit to obtain the qualification of the nurse assistant. M. Pagirgėlienė, who has been working in the unit for more than 25 years, is a great example of dedication to her profession.

The Professional Award of the Year award in the Category of the Non -Medicine Department was presented to Viktorija Bučinskaitė, Head of the Law Department. Not only does it take care of the legal processes of the reorganization of the hospital, but also seek to establish a culture of transparency in the hospital by lightening staff on corruption prevention and taking care of the name of the transparent personal health care institution.

Head of the Department of Internal Diseases (Baltijos St. 120) became the head of the year Assoc. dr. Alfred Bagdon. The manager pays a lot of attention to team formation, departmental objectives, clinical trials. Although the activities of the unit are certainly not easy, but last year the employees had to move to new premises, the team formed is successful and the range of services is expanding to patients.

The patients’ voice award, after counting the gratitude written by the patients last year, received the head of the Department of Neurology (Hippodromo St. 13) to Aiste Čikotienė. The neurologist of thanks received several dozen a year. They were not lacking in other employees of this unit, so A. Čikotienė was awarded not only for sincere care for patients, but also for hospital values ​​- patient orientation orientation.

The team of the Year award was given to the Social Activities Unit for dedication to social services for patients and active assistance to colleagues. Few people know the important activities of the hospital by social workers. If you need to transfer the patient to a nursing hospital, provide a wheelchair, help manage documents or get support for social skills, and employees of this department are assisted. Thanks to them, doctors can focus on treatment services rather than solving social problems.

Acknowledgments were also given to the employees for courage and decisive actions to ensure the safety of patients during the Fire Alley unit. These staff made sure that patients were urgently transferred to another hospital body.
