On the occasion of Earth Day, Kaunas Akropolis is equipped with an impressive artistic installation
About the language of the language?
T. Černiauskas, who created the rye outdoor installation, said that in the event of pandemia, many existential issues had to be considered. One of them is the exit, sometimes without saying goodbye.
« Before pandemia, I traveled a lot around the world, different countries, when I started, life ended with what I knew, projects, no work, travel. I was shocked by that unknown and began to think about the topic of farewell, which is why the project is called French Exit.

According to him, this topic is very broad, including death and the end of career or other important stages of life. It can also be about leaving a simple party, without any farewell to friends.
« I was looking for symbols and became a very interesting banality that we survives to say goodbye. It can be both the rye field and the sunset. It is a feeling we all know. I wanted to restore banalty as a form of dialogue.
However, in Kaunas Akropolis, the rye field is not so common. It is raised above his heads, so creating quite different experiences. « Standing under the rye appears like this feeling of flutter. It can be both a farewell and a go to heaven or a non -saying. Farewell is like a mantra that should be in every person's everyday life, because then part of life becomes more expensive, » the author said.
Farewell to me is like a mantra that should be in every person's daily life.
About half a million were used for the installation. rye. Before the creation of this piece, I had to look for rye in this form, as mostly only grains remain after the rye. Finally, it was decided to buy rye from the Netherlands. They also had to be specially treated to keep them non -flammable.
From France to Lithuania
French Exit was shown last year in France. In that country the Lithuanian cultural season took place. The work of T. Černiauskas was installed in a remote French monastery and received a lot of positive reviews.
It is true that in France the artistic field of rye was vertical, in Kaunas it changed its shape, but the idea remained the same. « This installation is always changing. Now we have chosen a different version because it is always interesting to experiment. Where it would be different, presentation options may be different. In France, the installation has been very positively accepted, » the artist said, adding that he expects good visitors to Kaunas.

Although the place is remote, the exhibition took place on a very important architectural heritage site, attended by many people. After learning about each other about the impressive installation, about 14,000 people visited it during that half a year. Chernauskas knows how to join the space where and to create additional meanings.

“The unique art installations for the Earth Day, which we implement with Salto, are already a beautiful tradition of Kaunas Akropolis. We have been organizing such promotions for more than five years. The uniqueness of this year's installation is that the installation work took place during the day. Usually the work is done at night to prevent visitors. However, due to the uniqueness of this piece, we allowed the installation of the mall during the operation of the mall and noticed that the process of artwork was a very interesting process for visitors. We are delighted that more and more artists are discovering our spaces, ”said Brigita Kuodytė, the head of Kaunas Akropolis.
« As we have already implemented a number of internationally recognized project, we can see that interest in the works is huge. Last year, Gaia has visited 130,000 in a few weeks. visitors, « the French Exit installation should attract the attention of visitors, the interviewer added.
On the third floor of Kaunas Akropolis, the installation created by T. Černiauskas will be seen until April 13.
