This night Bulgaria is moving to the summer time. At 3am on Sunday – March 30, the hour is changed with one ahead.
The return to the winter time will take place on October 26, when at 4 o’clock in the morning the clocks have to go back one hour.
In Bulgaria, the transition from winter to summer time has established itself as a lasting practice in 1979, and the arguments, as everywhere in the world, are that this is how the energy for lighting is spared. However, after decades, the benefits of this are not confirmed by estimates, while about 30% of people experience mental and physical discomfort.
End of the winter time change to summer time? Yes, but not now, replies Europe
In 2018, the European Commission conducted an online poll, which included 4.6 million participants. Most demanded that time change. In Bulgaria, 96% were announced for most of them, and most of them preferred to live throughout the year in the summer. Consensus in the EU on this issue has not yet been achieved to this day.
Several European countries have already given up the change of time. Iceland, for example, last moved the clock arrows in 1968. For countries in the Arctic regions, the change of time does not actually make much sense, as it is difficult to talk about day and night in the peak of summer and winter. Belarus also has not changed time since 2011, and Russia-from 2014.
