Rúna Ágústsdóttir, alcohol and intoxicants at the Parents’ House, sees it seriously that children and young people seek to shorten hours after traditional school hours end in shopping malls and other many places. There can be many things to do.

According to Runa, the consumption of young people is less than only in the evening and on weekends. Her experience for four decades has shown the prevalence of adolescent drinks and other drug use in the middle of the day on weekdays. In doing so, parents and guardians often notice while outdoor activities and other rules are respected.

« I mean they are in the mall and they are drinking there. Just in a drunk outside the toilet, » says Rúna. « Sometimes the parents are completely unsuspecting. »

But what should a 14 -year -old « ordinary » child do during the day?

« A 14 -year -old should be in their own zip code. They should not have friends in Hafnarfjordur, up in Akranes and just be on the bus and all over the place, » says Rúna.

« Teenlessness is often a danger signs. They should be in their neighborhood and should prefer to do something. »
