The domestic industrial group joins its concession to the offshore fields in Abu Dhabi to the Russian Lukoil.
The sub-state oil and gas group OMV has sold its 5 percent concession to the Ghasha-offshore fields off the coast of Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates, VAE) for $ 526.55 million at the Russian mineral oil company Lukoil. This was announced by the listed group in a broadcast on Friday. However, a transaction fee of $ 100 million is deducted from the purchase price.
The concession consists of three large gas and condensate development projects- Hail, Ghasha and Dalma- as well as other offshore oil, gas and condensate fields including NASR, Sarb and Mubarraz, it was said at the end of 2018- when the OMV started with the project. In autumn 2019, Lukoil already got on with a 5 percent share in the project. The majority of the project holds the state Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), which also holds almost 25 percent of the OMV. Other project partners are the Italian Eni and Deutsche Wintershall with 25 and 10 percent share. (APA)
