OM: 24-year-old suspect confesses the shooting of three men in IJsselmonde
The 24-year-old man who is suspected of committing three apparently random murders in IJsselmonde has known that he shot the three victims. The public prosecutor told that on Friday morning in the Rotterdam court during the first (non-substantive) session.
The suspect is said to have shot two men aged 63 and 58 from behind on December 21, 2024 on the Reyerdijk in Rotterdam, and on December 28 on the Roelantpad. Both victims died shortly thereafter from their injuries. Then a third victim followed on January 2, a man of 81. He died almost immediately.
A twenty -year -old man from Amsterdam is also on trial that Sendric S. would have delivered the murder weapon
The session room is packed this Friday, a second room is also full of interested parties and there is the possibility to follow the seat via a live stream. That is exceptional, but the Rotterdam court decided because of the great impact of the events on the neighborhood, Rotterdam and the rest of the Netherlands.
In court, the officer outlines the urgency with which a police team went looking for a perpetrator after the first victim fell. The event held Rotterdam-IJsselmonde in a chilling grip: after the third incident, the police even called to go to the streets even only on and to avoid dark and remote places.

On January 2, Sendric S., without a permanent place of residence or residence, was arrested on the balcony of a house in Rotterdam. A firearm was also found in the house. He is blamed for three times murder and possession of weapons. A twenty -year -old man from Amsterdam, who would have delivered him the murder weapon, is on trial.
The shooter obtained his firearm – a gas pistol – one day before the first shooting of the twenty -year -old Amsterdammer. The police found the DNA of the Amsterdammer on the bullet shells after the shooting of the first victim. When the same DNA was found at the second victim, a link could be made between the two shootings. The two men had come into contact with each other via Snapchat.
After an anonymous tip-from, it turned out later, the twenty-year-old Amsterdammer-with the Criminal Intelligence team about S.’s Snapchat account, the police managed to find out the name of the suspected shooter. The agents who were present in large numbers on the street at that time did not yet know that information when they checked a man in the supermarket on 2 January who met the description. He was photographed by agents, but went free. Not long after, he turned out to have shot the three people.
Nothing is known about the shooter’s motive of the shooter. Sendric S. will be investigated in the Pieter Baan Center. The next pro forma session is planned for 24 June.
