His name is Oleg Gusev. And in May 2018 he last played in a white and blue T-shirt at 20. The club T-shirt in which he dreamed of playing since childhood, and gave 15 years of his life.

In modern football such as Gusev is very small. He never shouted about his merits, never threw his hats even the weakest rivals, did not quarrel with management, did not put ultimatum, did not ask for a salary. He just played. And how played. When Gusev appeared on the field, the fans knew that the right eyebrow could be calm. Like all people, he did not sometimes go, but the ultras knew perfectly well that he would « die » on the field, be it a whole match or 20 minutes.

This is not the American success story, but the real way of a football warrior. The path of ordinary light boy from the small village of Stepanivka in Sumy region. It was there that he began his way in sports. From there he got to Sumy Frunzenets-Liga-99, where the attacker noticed brilliant in working with the youth Vyacheslav Grozny, who was then entrusted to gather the newly created Kiev Arsenal.

In the arsenal, the Terrible was erupted over Oleg. The coach tried him in the attack, then a support. Unless he did not put at the goal. Somehow the Terrible tried Gusev on the right flank of the midfield. After that, the coach called the player in the office and said, « No! It’s not yours! »

The irony of fate for the next 15 years in Dynamo, he played there, and his first ball in white and blue stood at the gate of Kiev Arsenal. At this position he was noticed by coaches of the national team.

In the national team Gusev spent 98 matches. He did not reach the cherished hundred, including because of the strange position of the head coach of the national team at the response of Euro 2016, Mikhail Fomenko. It is comrade, because Oleg himself does not like to scatter words, but calls his friends only the nearest. Most of which are not related to football.

The return also happened because of fans who could not forgive the management that even humanly could not say goodbye to their pet. For the ultras Gusev – the heart of Dynamo and just his presence even on the bench has already caused a furore in the stands. Because how without a heart?

Gusev said he was playing for the fans and always listened to their point of view. Even when the team was mercilessly criticized. He always approached the fan-sector for support.

He was loved and respected even seemingly irreconcilable rivals.

In the spring of 2014, when the war in the Donbass began, Dynamo played against Shakhtar in Poltava. Gusev, who was sitting on a bench because of a injury, approached the fan sector of the Miners in the middle of the match and thanked Donetsk ultras for their patriotic position.

That dialogue with fans of stubborn rivals was remembered by many. Shakhtar’s ultras, who had problems with their club in Donetsk because of their position, they asked that Gusev brought the players of the Donetsk club to their stands after the match. Anatolyevich said that Shakhtar players did not answer, but the dynamo will fit. And Dynamo came up with all the composition.

Patriotism for the « twenty » Dynamo is not empty. In the midst of the Maidan Gusev was perhaps the only dynamo I personally saw in Khreshchatyk in the most fierce days. Immediately after the end of the game career, Oleg Anatoliyovych organically entered the coaching staff of Yuri Moroz in the youth team of Kyivans, and with the arrival of the club Mircea Lucescu Gusev went to promotion and became an assistant of the head coach.
