OKS signed contracts with first candidates to enter Olympics 2026
The Olympic Committee of Slovenia (OKS) signed contracts with the first six athletes candidates for appearing at the Winter Olympics next year in Milan or Cortina d’Ampezzo (between February 6 and 22 2026), and this honor was earned by a ski runner Anja Mandeljcski jumper Nika Vodanbiathlete Jakov Fakalpine skier Jean Kranjecthe snowboarder Jean Košir and the Nordic combinator Vid Vrhovnik.
“We have signed the contracts with six athletes, for now, candidates, who we believe will actually be at the Olympics. We expect that we will have about 50 competitors at the largest winter sporting event next year, and together with the companions there will be hundreds of Slovenes. At the OKS, we will do our best to prepare for the highlight of the 2025/26 competition. After the excellent summer Olympics in Paris, we expect exceptional winter Olympics, because the Italians have repeatedly proven themselves as brilliant organizers. As some venues are close to Slovenia, we hope that there will be many of our fans on them, « he revealed Franjo Bobinacthe President of the OKS, pleased that they have a lot of support for partners and the state to « erect » the Slovenian house in Cortina d’Ampezzo.
