OGBL boss sees unions as a « social fire wall »
« We can and will no longer let ourselves be split, » said OGBL boss Nora Back, who was freshly confirmed in office, in front of the delegates on the second day of the nationwide 9th union congress in the Luxexpo.
In a joint urgency resolution, its union has stated together with the Christian Trade Union Confederation LCGB « structure their trade union actions and (to) coordinate in order to create a common front ». The LCGB had already passed the resolution by its members at its congress in February.

« My heart is bleeding when I see that more and more are ready to choose right -wing extremists, » said Back, which emphasized in her fundamental speech, right -wing extremism and union principles « fundamentally » excluded. « If democracy is attacked, our trade union rights are also attacked, » Back called into the hall with applause.

Do unions still have a right to exist?
With the saber rattling and threatening gestures, with the large demonstration planned for June and now the common union front, OGBL and LCGB are trying to get themselves into a good negotiating position. Before the summer break, the government wants to confess color in another delicate dossier: How should the pension system be set up in the future? « With the OGBL, there will be no pension, » Back promised the around 500 delegates.
