Karim Khan, the main prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, resigned temporarily. The investigation into those accusations has almost been completed.

The accusations against Khan came out in 2024. He would have touched a female employee of the Criminal Court for more than a year, and would have been guilty of mandatory behavior and abuse of power. Khan himself denied everything and called for an investigation last year.

Sanctions by Trump

On Thursday, Khan no longer had access to his e-mail and bank accounts, the AP news agency reported. That has to do with American sanctions against the ICC. US President Donald Trump laid down the sanctions in February, after the Criminal Court issued arrest trees against Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and the former defense minister of Israel for crimes against humanity during the war in Gaza.

According to AP, the Criminal Court is hit hard by the sanctions. American employees of the Court in The Hague have been told that they may be arrested when they return to the US.

Khan is mainly known for his role in the case against the Israeli Prime Minister about the war in the Gaza Strip. In November last year, the ICC spent the arrest Out against Netanyahu, among others.
