Objective Average salary 1200 euro
SP leader Edi Rama, during an electoral meeting in Devoll, made a balance of economic achievements of the three seats of government, emphasizing improvements in the labor market, pensions, salary and reducing inequality. Rama said that Albania today is at the same level as the average of EU countries in terms of the risk of falling into poverty, referring to Eurostat data.
He noted that even income inequality has suffered significant reductions, based on the same European sources. He stressed that the unemployment rate has fallen to the historical level, to less than 10%, and that this percentage is calculated on the active labor force, not the entire population.
« Now many people say, but because the population has fallen, the number of unemployment has fallen. No! It is not % over the population. This is not 8.8 % of the entire population, there are no retirees, here are not counted. The prime minister also spoke about the minimum wage, which has increased steadily, and the goal is to be higher in January 2026, while in Albania in 2030 it will reach at least 650 euros.
Regarding the average salary, Rama said that currently it is 848 euros in the public sector has reached 1000 euros. The Government’s target for 2030 is that the average overall salary is 1000 euros and the public sector will reach 1200 euros.
