Nutriagiologists are asked to exclude them from the « List of Sorcerers »
Russian nutriologists turned to the Government of the Russian Federation, the State Duma and the Public Chamber with a request not to prohibit their advertising as representatives of the sphere of « esoteric services ». This norm is contained in the bill prepared by the State Duma deputy Nina Ostanina (Communist Party). The ban on their advertising will negatively affect the “public health” and will not allow the life expectancy of Russians, nuthangiologists say. Scientists are skeptical of their activities and refuse to consider it scientific. Mrs. Ostanina herself is ready to “understand” in the situation and discuss the change in the project.
At the disposal of Kommersant was a collective appeal of 14 “Non-Profit Organizations, Institutions in the Field of Protection of Public Health and Leading Nutriological Schools”, sent on April 4 to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Head of the State Duma Committee Sergey Leonov and Secretary of the Russian Public Chamber Lidia Mikheeva.
The authors of the appeal consider it wrong to mention nutriziologists in the bill on the ban on advertising of esoteric services.
This document was published on March 11 by the head of the Duma Committee for the Protection of the Family Nina Ostanina. She offers to block resources with advertising of alchemists, astrologers, witches, nutritionists, ruinologists, tarologists, palmists, esoteric coach and other similar activities. In total, there are 38 positions on the list. “These practices do not have a scientific justification, mislead people and are often used for fraud. Our goal is to protect citizens, especially vulnerable groups, from psychological and financial harm, ”the deputy points out. The bill has not yet been submitted to the State Duma.
Nutriariologists They consider themselves to be specialists in the field of food, doing, according to them, healing through the optimization of the food diet and the development of useful habits. They mainly provide consulting services, choosing diets for different ages, professions, conditions. In recent years, advertising of this type of activity has become widespread-primarily in social networks, where online courses on proper nutrition, weight loss methods, training on a nutritionist, etc. have been offered.
In their appeals, nutriarologists “certainly support” the desire to regulate the market of esoteric services that “mislead citizens and cause physical, moral and material damage”. They consider it “extremely necessary and timely” legislative distinction between scientific methods and “pseudo -scientific and potentially dangerous practices”. But getting into the list of nutrition is a mistake, the authors of the letter are sure, since we are talking about the “science of nutrition” and “important link” in the public health system.
To give their arguments to additional weight, nuthersiologists indicated that their activities contribute to the fulfillment of the tasks of Russians to 78 years of life set by President Vladimir Putin. They emphasize that nutrition is “officially integrated” into healthcare systems of a number of developed countries. In Russia, the authors of the letter say, by the end of the year a professional standard for nutritziologists should appear, after which their activities « will be settled. »
“We consider these amendments (the bill Nina Ostanina. – « Kommersant ») Premature and violating the rights and legitimate interests of more than 500 thousand specialists of this field, ”the appeal says.
Anna Timofeeva, the head of the Wellness Cluster of the educational holding of the Ultimate Education, warned the letter in an interview with Kommersant: the ban on advertising will lead to a sharp reduction in the number of specialists in the field of nutrition. This will negatively affect public health, she is sure. “It is possible to reduce the birth rate and expectancy of life, aggravation of stressful situations and anxious-depressive states,” the nutritionist assures. “Since these indicators affect the fullness of a person’s nutrition with the necessary substances, macro- and micronutrients, as well as other elements.” According to Mrs. Timofeeva, « a large number of conditionally healthy people need prevention. »
The President of the Society of Evidence Medicine Vasily Vlasov said “Kommersant” that nutrition is not a science, but just a “special word”. He calls the “real” science of nutrition. “It’s not by chance that the nutriaciologists ended up in the“ Sorcerers ”,” the expert is sure. “This area is filled with people who talk about“ holes in the intestines ”, sell the devil knows what is under the guise of diets and services – and make a profit on this.”
“The bill is aimed at the ban on advertising of the activity that is not professional assistance to our people,” deputy Nina Ostanina told Kommersant. She indicated that in Russia there was no officially profession “nutrition”, although individual educational organizations issue relevant diplomas. According to the deputy, « it is necessary to understand this process. » “The other day there will be a large discussion of the bill,” Ms. Ostanina added. “We have already received constructive proposals and are ready to consider new ones. Any comments are accepted. «
