Nuremberg Airport expects 2025 with the increase in passenger numbers
Barcelona, Istanbul or Madeira: the Nuremberg Airport brings travelers all over the world. Or at least to all of Europe. Vacation trips are popular, this is also shown by the company’s current annual annual report: Last year Albrecht Dürer Airport for the first time has been broken the 4 million mark again for the first time since 2019. The number of passengers was back at the pre-corona level, in 2025 the airport expects further growing numbers.
There were a total of around 48,600 flight movements at Nuremberg Airport in 2024 – a decline of 3.5 percent compared to the previous year. While regular traffic declined by 9.2 percent, tourist air traffic rose significantly by 23 percent. The growth of tourism connections indirectly owes Nuremberg Airport to the airlines who have expanded their offer. This includes in particular Eurowings and Condor/Marabu.
Nuremberg Airport expects 300,000 more passengers in the current year
The airport mainly includes seasonal flights in holiday regions such as Turkey or Spain. Line flights, on the other hand, primarily include regular flights, which, for example, serve as a feeder with the international turnstile.
Even if the number of passengers in Nuremberg recently increased, sales proceeds with 99.5 million euros are slightly below the value of 2023 (100 million euros). This attributes the company to the fact that certain operational activities have been outsourced.
Despite higher passenger numbers: Nuremberg Airport achieves lower sales proceeds
For this year, Albrecht Dürer Airport expects around 4.3 million passengers to increase another 300,000 passengers. The current summer flight schedule 2025 offers around 60 connections as direct flights.
That more travelers fly on vacation by plane also occupies the Tourism study of the ADAC. Here the aircraft was slightly above the value of 2022 (32 percent) as a means of transport. One reason for this is that package tours are made more often than in pandemic times.
