Nuclearelectrica hires technical consultant for reactors 3 and 4


The state company Nuclearelectrica has auctioned a contract of 40 million lei for hiring a technical consultant to verify and supervise the project of the reactors 3 and 4 of the Cernavoda nuclear power plant.

This is the largest and most valuable project in Romania, after the Revolution, evaluated to be completed in 2032 and which would cost at least 8 billion euros. Among other things, the consultant will also check the final amount budgeted for the project. It is made in partnership with Canadian companies, where Candu, American, Fanceze and Italian technology comes from.

The activities to be carried out: activities to verify the technical documentation drawn up by the contractor. Technical consulting and project management activities at the acquirer’s offices. Activities for making audits.

« The services whose achievement will be entrusted by this award procedure are requested in the context of the need for verification/analysis and validation of the conclusions of the technical documentation issued by the contractor in stage 2 of the project 3 and 4 Cernavoda, to verify the hypotheses used in the strategy of completion of the project, of the way of determining the 4 CNA by the contractor, respectively the association of FCSA ”, is shown in the tender specifications.

The contract for reactors 3 and 4 from Cernavoda was signed, at the end of last year, in Baku, between Nuclearelectrica, Energulear (project company) – owned by Nuclearelectrica and the consortium of Flour, Sargent & Ledy (USA), Atkins Realis (Candu – Canada) and Ansaldo (Italy).
