If Trump’s announcement becomes concrete policy, it could mean that Novo and similar companies will be met by new economic barriers if they do not move more production to the United States.

« When they hear it, they will leave China. They will leave other countries because they have to sell – and most of their product is sold here, » Trump said according to TV 2.

The US market is crucial to Novo Nordisk, which sells large quantities of insulin and weight loss medicine such as Wegovy and Ozempic to US consumers. Therefore, any new duty or trade barrier may be felt directly on the bottom line.
