A serious incident has triggered a strong warning to parents after four -year -old Luca de Groot from Australia was dazzled by a detergent.

Luca was in the process of helping her mother, Jodi Lowe, with the laundry as she – for yet unknown reasons – prayed in a capsule filled with concentrated detergent. She immediately began to scream, and in the same moment she inadvertently rubbed the corrosive detergent in her eyes, writes Daily Mail.

Panically, Jodi raised her daughter under the shower, but as Lucas screams got even worse, she drove her to the hospital. Here she was hospitalized for 16 days before she was discharged – and even now she has not yet regained the sight fully on one eye.

Jodi, who works as a sales manager, now expresses strong criticism of the warnings that appear on the packaging and calls for stricter security measures.

« Luca often helps me with the laundry, and she has never tried before to bite into anything. It all happened in a moment. »

Jodi followed the instructions on the packaging, which simply stated that one should seek medical attention, but the situation quickly proved to be far more serious. Following the advice of a medical hotline, Luca was immediately admitted to the hospital.

According to doctors, Luca can expect redness around his eyes for up to six to twelve months. Her view of the left eye is still affected, but slow improvement is seen.
