Now E45 Road Work starts at 38 kilometers long stretch

The large machines are now working on the last of a total of seven sections of the motorway from Vejle to Skanderborg, where the E45 East Jutland Motorway is being expanded from two to three tracks in each direction.

Thus, the Road Directorate’s contractors are embarking on the development work on all stages of the 38 -kilometer stretch.

« It is a large milestone for the project that we are now on the last stretch. And that means we are following the schedule so that we can expect to open traffic in three tracks in each direction by the end of 2026, » says project manager John Kjærsgaard of the Road Directorate, in one press release.

By emergency – give space

While the construction machinery is taking their entry, the road users must, in turn, give up space and speed. Because when the work is on the entire stretch, the driving tracks are narrowed and the speed reduced to 80 km/h.

It requires extra concentration, sharpened attention and patience from road users when there is road work on such a long time. However, there are other challenges, however.

Rescue vehicles during emergency are difficult to arrive when the tracks are narrow and traffic tight. Therefore, signs have been set up showing how to create an emergency corridor in road work. It’s about showing considerations and pulling out to the sides so that there is the most space between the driving tracks for emergency vehicles to emerge.
