Notorious Antwerp table foam (41) now arrested in Blankenberge: « He stayed until the police were there » (inland)
Table foam Cliff H. (41) visited this Chinese restaurant on the Grote Markt in Blankenberge on Friday.
A notorious table foam (41) was arrested in Blankenberge on Friday evening. Cliff H. went extensively in a Chinese restaurant on the Grote Markt but then refused to pay. The recidivist received 25 months in prison last year due to similar facts.
When Antwerp catering exams Cliff H. see the legs slide under the table in their case, they call the police immediately. The man is a notorious table fother with at least fifteen convictions in his account. He was sentenced to 25 months in prison in November in November after the umpteenth case of bottle tractor. « I’m it again, » he said when the police once came to get him from a catering business.
Cliff H. does not care much about it and has a reputation: his carafe red wine is almost always on the bill, which is not paid afterwards.
On Friday evening it was a prize in Blankenberge: the table fother suddenly appeared in a Chinese restaurant on the Grote Markt. There, Cliff H. tableed for a bill of 63 euros. When the staff wanted to pay him, the man turned out to have no intention of settling his account. That happened without much fuss: Cliff H. stayed quiet. « Our services were notified for a case of bottle tractor, » said police commissioner Jan Maertens. « We have made the necessary findings and an official report was drawn up. » Customers saw how the man was taken.
There is no doubt that Cliff H. is not only a fixed ‘customer’ in catering establishments, but also at the police. Despite a laundry list of violations and convictions, the man is not in jail. On Friday evening, Cliff H. was questioned, but not arrested. Where the man is currently staying, is at the same time unclear.
« Objective »
« Official reports of facts in Blankenberge are transferred to the Public Prosecutor West Flanders. Outside of West Flanders, these are transferred to the public prosecutor’s office. It is therefore difficult to get a clear picture of what happened to any those who have happened. Our people are not objective and judge his past, » says Jan Maerttens. « No arrests are usually made for such facts. It is now up to the public prosecutor to judge his file. »
