A delivery van that is stuck under the railway bridge of the Spesbroekstraat: they are no longer afraid of it in Wondelgem. A new sign must now warn drivers about the low passage.
However, it is clearly indicated on the railway bridge in the Spesbroekstraat in Wondelgem: vehicles higher than 2.20 meters cannot pass. But the ‘lump bridge’ is now not for nothing that is indicated on Google Maps. Vestures are stuck every once in a while, sometimes several on a day and regularly with a lot of damage as a result.
To tackle the problem, railway manager Infrabel and the city of Ghent worked on extra signage. The new traffic signs were placed on both sides of the underpass on Tuesday.
« Note, Lage Brug » says in large letters, with photos of unfortunate drivers who preceded them and got stuck. Mobility ships Joris Vandenbroucke (for Ghent) helped themselves with the placement of the signs. Reflective comics were also applied to the bridge itself.
