Not to be believed: containerly drunk in the garden of Norwegian
A huge container, floating under a Cypriot flag, mooring in the Norwegian garden after the Wahta officer fell asleep, the BBC reports.
Investigators have announced that the officer, a Ukrainian citizen of about thirty, admitted that he was asleep while he was on a shift.
He has been accused of negligent shipping, and police are also investigating whether the rules for working hours and vacation were followed on board the vessel.
The 135-meter ship was stuck meters from a house on Thursday morning in Binethaet, near Trondheim, in Central Norway. Attempts to withdraw it so far have failed.
The Salten ship had 16 crew and traveled through the Trondheim Fjord to Orkanger when it diverted its course.

Property owner Johan Helberg tells the British newspaper Guardian that he had to bend his neck to see the deck of the ship.
« It was so unreal, » he says, adding that the ship’s nose had stopped five meters from the entrance to his home.
He was signaled by a panic neighbor who watched the ship approaching the shore.
« I didn’t know if I was dreaming because it was five in the morning and it was so unreal, » Bard Jogensen told BBC’s Newsaurs.
