Which of Europe’s leading leagues would be suitable for Jasa’s style, she does not yet know, but the athlete has the feeling that the Spanish championship is certainly not. « There are other championships, such as Italy, France, Germany – a lot of leagues. Look at where to get out, » Jasa added.

In May, the Latvian women’s basketball team began training under the leadership of new head coach Matisse Rozhapa. Latvians will not play in the European Championship final this summer, but will play test matches with the Czech Republic.

« He has been somewhere near my career as an assistant, individually coach or youth team coach. Almost every season he has been next to it. Now he has a new role, » Jasa said of his collaboration with Rožlap.

Latvian basketball players did not qualify for this year’s European Championship and will not participate in two of the last three championships.

« Of course, the most important thing is to return to the European Championship. My personal goal with the team is to develop and improve my performance, of course, not to exaggerate, because there is a team game. I see a lot of young players, that’s very cool because everyone has opportunities, » Jasa said.

In the qualifying sub -group, Latvian basketball players lost only to France, and the difference between the gained and lost points prevented the road sign for the final tournament.

« We did everything we could, but the big minuses against France fell us. Maybe we would have helped us bigger victories over Israel. We did our job. What else could we do? At that moment there was disappointment and everything was bad.

Jasa has scored 57 points in the Latvian adult team in 17 matches. The 2023 European U-20 Championship, where the Latvians won silver, was included in the symbolic five of the tournament.
