Non -alcoholic beer / day
Nowadays, the choice to drink a non -alcoholic beer is called an adult’s choice to live with a clear head. More and more people are choosing to drink non -alcoholic beer for health, lifestyle, or simply for taste. What exactly is this drink, how is it and why is it considered a modern choice today?
Within the permissible limits
Although the name can be misleading, non -alcoholic beer is not completely alcohol -free. In most cases, the alcohol content of this drink is up to 0.5 volumes – less than in some fruits or kefir.
Latvian legislation adopts this border as non -alcoholic, similar to many other European countries. However, 0.0% of the variants are also available among athletes and pregnant women.
The nuances of production
Non -alcoholic beer making is more technically complex than it seems. There are several ways to achieve lower alcohol content. I will name the three most common.
Stopping fermentation – the fermentation process is stopped before a significant amount of alcohol is formed.
Alcohol evaporation – ready beer is heated until alcohol evaporates.
Membrane filtration or vacuum distillation – these state -of -the -art technologies allow the drink to be kept as much as possible. For manufacturers, this is important because they try to preserve the characteristic taste of the classic beer, which requires accurate technological work and a nuanced approach.
To clarity of the mind
Non -alcoholic beer nowadays is much more than just the choice for those who « can’t drink ». It is chosen by athletes after training, office staff at lunch break and dinner lovers who want a clear head the next morning. Here are the main reasons why people choose this beer:
1) Driving – in many countries, even a small level of alcohol can cause problems with the law, so non -alcoholic beer is a safe alternative; 2) a healthier lifestyle – compared to classic beer, non -alcoholic is usually less calorie and does not affect liver function; 3) enjoying the taste without consequences – today’s non -alcoholic ali has become so of good quality that it offers equivalent taste experience without intoxication; 4) Pregnancy and breastfeeding – more and more women choose non -alcoholic beer as an alternative to other carbonated drinks; 5) Sports Nutrition – Functional non -alcoholic ali has been created in recent years with supplements – B vitamins, etc.
Taste evolution
In the last decade, non -alcoholic beer has also improved significantly in taste. Ten years ago, it was often watery and with a weak taste. Nowadays, the situation has changed dramatically.
The factories are investing in modern technology, and non -alcoholic ali is entering the market: IPA, wheat, dark, even acidic (Sour) ali. This means that a demanding beer lover can also find something that suits himself. More often, non -alcoholic beer is also offered in restaurants and wine bars alongside alcoholic beverages.
Stereotype
Public attitudes are changing – in the past, a non -alcoholic beer drinker was considered a « party damager », but today it is often a stylish, rational, healthy lifestyle person. Pop culture and social networks only strengthen this image – famous athletes, musicians often choose these drinks in public.
Methods and attempts to produce non -alcoholic or beer with reduced alcohol have been long ago. But the German brewery Clausthaler It is often considered the first brand of modern non -alcoholic beer. In 1979, Clausthaler became the world’s first commercial brand specializing in the production of non -alcoholic beer with a patented fermentation process.
Also in Latvia in recent years, the supply of non -alcoholic beers is becoming more and more wider. Local manufacturers offer not only classic but also experimental non -alcoholic beer. In parallel, import brands from Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, Denmark appear in stores.
Non -alcoholic beer is no longer a compromise – a deliberate choice. The quality of the beverage, the variety of taste and the increasing availability of it makes it a respectable part of modern beverage culture. It is no longer just a drink « when you should not drink », but a drink « when you want to live better ».
