Nocturnal Israeli attacks at factories in Tehran, « Death toll in Iran may be much higher »

Israeli rockets were fired again on the Iranian capital Tehran in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. According to the army of Israel, the attacks were carried out « with more than 50 combat aircraft » on goals connected to the Iranian revolutionary guard.

The Israeli army says it has hit factories for uranium centrifuges and weapon factories in Tehran. International press agencies report this. The army does not specify the precise location of that factory. Centrifuges are machines that enrich uranium that can be used for the production of fuel for power plants, but also for nuclear weapons.

Death toll

In Iran, more and more civilians are fleeing the attacks from Israel, who have been taking six days now. It is not known whether, and how many victims there were in Iran in the last attacks from Israel. According to an estimate of the human rights organization Human Rights Activists, established in the United States, who has been keeping killing numbers in Iran for some time after the large -scale protests in 2022, there have been many more deaths in the past week than has known so far.

According to the organization, at least 585 people in Iran were killed and 1,326 were injured. That is more than double what the authorities of Iran reported: the last update of last Monday mentioned 224 dead and 1,277 injured. Iran’s authorities have not published regular death numbers since the start of the attacks and have more often minimized the number of victims in the past.

The air alarm also sounded in Israel last night, but it is not known whether Iranian rockets have landed. No reports were made of victims in Israel.
