No survivors after the plane crashed with a house in Minnesota
A small plane flying from Iowa to Minnesota in the US crashed into a suburban house and led her to get flames, officials said on Saturday.
The plane was launched around 1220 o’clock in local time (1720 Bst) before falling into a residential area of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
Investigators said it was unclear how many people were aboard the plane, but the chief of firefighters at Brooklyn Park Shawn Conway said there were no survivors among the passengers. No one inside the house was reported killed.
The National Transport Security Board said it intended to investigate the cause of the collision, which remained unknown.
The agency is heading to the scene in Minnesota. He said he is expected to be on the ground on Sunday.
« As soon as at the scene, investigators will start the process of documenting the scene and examining the aircraft. The aircraft will then return to a safe structure for further evaluation, » the agency said in a statement.
Videos on social media show that the house where the aircraft crashed was engulfed in flames while local firefighters tried to quench it.
Chief Conway said it was developed in a « Fully Structure Fire » at a time when the fire department arrived at the scene.
Brooklyn Park, where the plane crashed, is a suburb of minneapolis. The city with 82,000 inhabitants lies about 11 miles north.
Minnesota governor Tim Waltz said his team was « in contact with local officials at the scene in Brooklyn Park and we are monitoring the situation closely ».
« Grateful for the first answers that responded to the call, » he added.
The incident comes after a series of recent aircraft clashes and for a few losses that have attracted US public attention after President Donald Trump had encouraged his cabinet to make cuts to federal agencies.
Hundreds of employees responsible for air safety assistance were fired, according to the Associated Press.
