The first of three days of this year’s ÖH election is over. Around nine percent of the 367,000 students entitled to vote on Tuesday at the election for the Austrian university of university at public and private universities, universities of applied sciences (technical collegesFH) and educational universities (PH) made their vote. A total of 30,773 votes were counted, it said on Tuesday evening from the election commission on the APA request. This is a plus compared to the last urn 2023 (eight percent). The elections run until Thursday.

The approximately 2300 election cards that have been arrived so far are not yet included. The deadline for receiving the election cards ends on Wednesday. In 2023 there was a participation of 21 percent at the end of the urn.

The students can choose on three levels: their study representatives, their university representation and the federal representative (BV), the Austria -wide student parliament. There is currently a coalition of the Association of Socialist Students (VSSTÖ), Greens and alternative students (grass) and communist student association – left list (KSV -Lili). ÖH chairman is currently Sarah Rossmann (Gras).
