Nine emergencies will be closed Saturday

Nine emergencies will be closed on Saturday, the worst of the four days of the May 1 Bridge. Among the closures are three urgencies of gynecology and obstetrics of the Setúbal Peninsula.

According to information from the National Health Service Portal, three emergency is planned on Thursday, which rises to four on Friday and reaches a peak of nine on Saturday, before going down to eight on Sunday.

At a time when many Portuguese take the opportunity to bridge, access to the emergency services of gynecology and obstetrics and pediatrics will be conditioned, especially on the weekend and in the region of Lisbon and Vale do Tagus.

According to the EMS scales of the NHS, updated by hospitals, the closure on Thursday, of three emergency services of gynecology and obstetrics, namely at Fernando Fonseca Hospital (Amadora-Sintra), Nossa Senhora do Rosário, Barreiro, and Vila Franca de Xira Hospital.

On Friday will be closed the emergencies of these specialties at Hospital Garcia de Orta, Almada, Amadora-Sintra Hospital and Santarém District Hospital.

The São Bernardo Hospital in Setúbal will receive only cases sent by the Urgent Patient Guidance Center (CODO) of the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM).

According to information from the SNS portal, the forecast points to Saturday to be the most complicated day, with seven closed gynecology and obstetric emergencies and two of pediatrics.

In the Setúbal Peninsula, the three emergency services of obstetrics and gynecology of the Setúbal Peninsula, ensured by the hospitals Garcia de Orta, Nossa Senhora do Rosario, in Barreiro, and São Bernardo, in Setúbal.

These three emergencies closed together, on Saturday, those of Amadora-Sintra, Vila Franca de Xira, Doctor Manoel Constâncio, in Abrantes, and District of Caldas da Rainha.

On Sunday, the urgencies of obstetrics and gynecology of the Caldas da Rainha district hospital reopen, with the remaining four.

During the weekend, the pediatric emergencies of the Vila Franca de Xira Hospital and the Beatriz Ângelo Hospital in Loures will be closed.
