BRATISLAVA. Only a handful of people welcomed bikers from the European branch of the Russian Night Wolves Club on Saturday, who commemorate the upcoming 80th anniversary of the end of World War II by driving and visiting the memorials.

On Friday, bikers visited, among other things, a memorial in the town of Svidník in northeastern Slovakia, as well as a memorial to Dukla on the Slovak-Polish border. Even there were no crowds of people.
The Dukla Memorial reminds one of the probably bloodiest battles against the Germans in World War II. The Czechoslovak unit under the command of the general and the later Czechoslovak President Ľudovít Svoboda also participated in the battle.
It is not the first ride of night wolves through Slovakia. Some countries consider these expeditions a provocation and assess them as a security risk.
