For the first time a woman: former Berset confidant becomes Federal Council spokeswoman
The Federal Council appointed a new spokeswoman on Wednesday: The journalist Nicole Lamon’s journalist will change the site for the second time.
- Nicole Lamon (53) is the new Federal Council spokeswoman. It starts on August 1, 2025.

Lamon has been the domestic leader of the « Le Temps » newspaper for two years and was previously deputy editor -in -chief of « Le Matin Dimanche ». As for the change of sides from journalism to federal administration, she already has experience: In 2012, the then Interior Minister Alain Berset Lamon, at that time, brought the head of the Radio RTS, as a communication leader to his department. In 2019 she moved back to journalism.

Apart from the short intermezzo Arcidiaconos, the post has been vacant for a year. This was died unexpectedly after the long -time Vice Chancellor and Federal Council spokesman André Simonazzi died unexpectedly a year ago. He had collapsed on a hike.
Ursula Eggenberger, who had held the post in interim, returns to the Federal Chancellery after Lamon’s taking office. As before, she leads communication there. Eggenberger remains deputy of Lamon. She had temporarily taken over the post as Federal Council spokeswoman after the death of Simonazzi.
