News anchor Kirsi Alm-Siira commented on MTV's shop: « The first fan was positive »

MTV's sales time surprised news anchor Kirsi Alm-Siira, as the most intense speculation of the channel was already behind.

Television channel MTV's long -time news anchor Kirsi Alm-Siira sees opportunities For sale by MTV to Norwegian Schibsted Media. Schibsted also buys a Swedish television channel TV4.

« I had personally positive for me, » Alm-Siira said Tuesday after the release of the deal.

Alm-Siira sees Schibsted as the strength of especially multimediality. He thinks that with the deal, MTV will be better able to meet the changing needs of news consumers.

« We can't do it in this world by leaning on a single product. »

Schibsted Known in Finland as the owner of the podme podcast service. Alm-Siira raised the service in the interview.

« I also see content opportunities for news makers, » he says, and admits that he is interested in making podcasts.

Alm-Siira thinks that podcast narration is particularly reaching young people and also enables the production of advanced and background content.

On MTV Alm-Siira, who has worked for nearly 20 years, has worked at the Mediatalo under several different owners.

“Always that change of ownership has brought something new from the employee's point of view. Of course, the new owner always brings to the work community a certain fear of what is happening. ”

Alm-Siira says that the time of trade surprised him in the sense that the most fierce speculations from MTV's trade were already behind.

Purchase price MTV and Swedish TV4 channel are approximately EUR 590 million. The current owner of MTV is Telia.

The deal is waiting for the approval of the authorities and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2025.

MTV started his journey by producing an advertising-funded TV show for the channel he rented from Yli. In 1993 it got its own channel.

MTV was sold to the Swedish Bonnier Media Group in 2005 and further to Telia in 2019.

The channel has made million losses in recent years as traditional television viewers go online.
