News about the Identity Electronic Book
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) launched, Wednesday, the website dedicated to the new electronic book identity. Can be accessed at the address https://carteadeity.gov.ro/.
« The site is structured on three sections-about, counters and useful-and offers details on how to obtain the new electronic identity card, the characteristics and benefits of the new document, as well as the differences from the simple identity card, » informs a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The « About » section details the safety elements of the new identity document and presents the data that are visibly inscribed and those stored on the chip. Also, people can find information about the calendar of implementing the new identity document.
By accessing the « Ghişee » button, the interested persons can find out what are the records of the people where they can apply to obtain the new identity card. This information will be constantly updated, as the issuance process expands at national level. In order to support the citizens, the contact details, such as the telephone number and the e-mail address are mentioned, but also the exact location on the map of each service of persons.
The « useful » section offers answers to the most common questions about the electronic identity card. The content of this page is presented with information on how to activate those, deactivate and reactivate those, which you can do in case of losing the identity document.
« We remind you that the first electronic identity card is issued free of charge for Romanian citizens starting at the age of 14, within the limits of the funds provided by the National Plan for Redress and Resility (PNRR), » the source quoted shows. Citizens can request an electronic identity card even before the current identity document (model 1997) expires.
