New spring-like in-drinks and where they can be found in Augsburg
Spring is there – and with it the desire to go to the café and enjoy the sun’s rays outdoors. In many Augsburg cafes there are drinks this season that should go particularly well with spring. They offer a foray to special flavors and extraordinary colors. We looked around and asked for hosts which in-drinks they serve.
UBE latte in the tannery 1557
The « tannery 1557 » in the old town on the Holbeinplatz has recently been offering the purple UBE latte, which is obtained from the yam root and represents an alternative to coffee – without caffeine. For those who do not want to do without coffee, there is the ubecchino. This contains an additional espresso shot. In any case, the Yams root variant impresses with its extraordinary color: purple. If a lattice is served, the hot drink immediately attracts the attention of the other guests, the tannery employees reveal. They confirm that the UBE latte is happy to be ordered because people are curious about the drink with the nutty-sweet taste.
Strawberry and mango coconut-Matcha in the cafés Dede and Nene

The cafés Dede and Nene also offer spring-like drinks compared to the Brechthaus and in the Liliom cinema. There is a selection of different Matcha latte variations. The bestseller on the map is the « Matcha for Favorite Sken » with mango and coconut, says Managing Director Furkan Ugurlu. The combination of fruity with Matcha would be very well received. At the beginning of April, the Strawberry Matcha is also to come back on the menu because it was very popular with the guests last season. However, it is not easy to get high-quality Matcha tea in Germany. Therefore, Ugurlu imports the Matcha from Kyoto in Japan in order to guarantee high quality.
Eeely coffee and fruit variants in the Yard Coffee

The Yard Coffee in downtown Augsburg offers its own spring beverage menu. Among other things, the Iced Caramel Raspberry and Mango Shakes are offered there. These combine coffee with fruit taste. In addition to coffee variations, there are also spring -like lemonades such as the Iced Apple Grapefruit Lemonade. « We want to offer our guests a seasonal variety, so we have an extra spring drinks menu, » says operator Viktoria Fisel. She also tells you love to experiment with coffee and always try to have something on offer for every taste. Matcha should not be missing due to the current popularity. This is also offered in combination with fruity. Inspiration for the drinks, she gets social media, but she does not want to chase existing trends afterwards, but wants to create her own with a personal touch, says Fisel. In terms of color, the spring creations should also indicate the season and appear aesthetic. « The eye finally eats and drinks, » says the owner.
