Health experts are now sounding alarm over a wave of unexpected and brutal side effects that emerge with more and more users.

The drug, which was actually developed to treat type 2 diabetes, has become a viral phenomenon-especially among celebrities and influencers who use it for weight loss.

But with popularity also comes with serious health consequences.

Dr. Emma Cunningham, specialist in aesthetic medicine, says her clinic sees a stream of patients with skin problems as a result of the rapid weight loss.

Loss of fat and altered metabolism can make the skin extremely sun sensitive and cause sunburns, even with sunscreen.

« The combination of these factors can make people taking the medicine tend to get sunburns or rashes even when using sun protection, » she says according to Unilad.

But it doesn’t stop at the skin.

Several patients report problems with concentration, mood swings, hair loss, frayed nails and pronounced fatigue.

Dr. Cunningham warns of mental fog as a result of nutritional deficiency in the case of rapid weight loss.

Dentists also feel the consequences.

Dr. Sepideh Jalali from The Tooth Club has seen an increase in patients with dry mouth, bad breath, acid damage and wounds in the mouth – all linked to changed eating habits and the body’s reaction to the medication.

Novo Nordisk, who is behind Ozempic, emphasizes that the product should only be used under the supervision of a doctor.

At the same time, patients are encouraged to report side effects and seek advice on problems.
