New rates for car registration numbers
The new rates for car registration numbers entered into force on Monday, April 7, in Giurgiu. These are between 22 lei for the simple plates and 125 lei in the case of reserving the combination of registration number.
« Starting on Monday, April 7, 2025, the new rates for the production and capitalization of plates with car registration numbers, as well as those related to the services provided by the General Directorate of Driving and Registration, are in force. own of the General Directorate of management and registration permits.
Thus, the new tariffs will be between 22 and 27 lei for type A, B, C and D and 60 lei plates for keeping the registration number, 125 lei for reservation combination number registration, 45 lei for assignment combination number of registration.
The amounts resulting from the production and capitalization of the plates with registration numbers made, as well as from the services provided represent their own revenues of the General Directorate of Driving and Registration and are transferred by the Prefect Institutions, in accordance with art. 11^1 para. (8) of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 195/2002 Regarding the traffic on public roads, republished, with the subsequent modifications and completions, in the account RO19TREZ70120E330800XXX, opened at the Treasury Sector 1 Bucharest for the General Directorate of Driving and Registration, states in the MAI Order.
