New historical maximum for value applied to certificates of aforro
The total amount applied to aforro certificates increased from April to 37,022 million euros, a new historical maximum. The climb reflects the search for this savings product despite the descent of the fee recorded that month.
In net terms (discounting amortizations in new money entries) Aforro certificates increased 541 million euros compared to the global amount counted in March.
Data from Banco de Portugal (BDP) released this Thursday indicate that April is the seventh consecutive month of rising the global value in aforro certificates, at a time when the interest rate of Series F (the only one in commercialization) has already dropped its maximum value (2.5%).
After almost two years to 2.5%, the interest rate of aforro certificates was in April for the first time below that ceiling, having been set at 2.415%.
The descent did not have the demand, even if there is a recording of the situation registered in the previous month in which, in liquid terms, the money entrances ascended to 726 million euros.
In May, and reflecting the departure of Euribor for three months, the interest rate of the certificates of Aforro was lowering again, having been set at 2.216%.
The amount invested in Treasury Certificates, following a trend started by the end of 2021, continues to go down, having retreated in April to 9.144 million euros, falling about 150 million euros in net terms compared to the previous month.
