New hacker trap can take over your accounts with one double -click

From click to chaos in one second

A double -click.

You press, without thinking, on a button, a link or a pop-up. But just that reflex can now be what closes a hacker directly into your accounts. A new and insidious hacking method called DoubleClickjacking is spreading, and it just hits you that thinks you’re careful enough.

DoubleClickjacking is related to the old clickjacking trick where cyber criminals hide harmful elements behind legitimate buttons. The new version utilizes double -click.

It writes Fox News.

Something most of us do completely automatically. The first click moves an invisible layer under your marker. The second click approves in all silence an act you would never say yes to, such as sharing your location, allowing access to microphone and camera, or at worst approve a transfer in your Crypto-Wallet.

It all happens so quickly that you don’t discover it. Many browsers only protect against a Click and therefore double clicks right through like a Trojan horse in cyberspace.

The method can also cheat browser extensions and mobile apps, and especially users of VPN, password managers and crypto services are at risk.

Several large websites have not yet been updated to counter the attack – and that makes the threat far more real than one would think.
