New coalition: surprising turn in Bartringen
An email will be surprised on Friday morning: in Bartringen there is now a coalition between the DP and Déi Gréng. Surprising, since the DP had won the absolute majority and seven seats in the local council in the 2023 municipal elections in 2023.
The « Luxembourg word » has Youri de Smet (DP), successor to the resigned Monique Smit-Thijs (DP)asked. « We discussed internally in our faction how the transition should take place. For me, it made sense to share the tasks and responsibility. In this regard, however, there were internal disease that could not be cleared out. » On the letter that de Smet sent on Friday, there is also a signature: that of Frank Demuyser, long -time member of the municipal council and former lay judge.
The designated mayor, who was sworn in in the Ministry of the Interior on Tuesday, did not want to comment on the internal disagreements. It is not yet clear whether Frank Demuyser will keep his seat in the local council.

« The idea of getting a partner on board has been with me for a long time, » explains Youri de Smet, who also says that the Bartrenger DP faction had spoken out for talks with Déi Gréng. The party has two seats in the local council, the CSV three. In addition, the LSAP comes with a representative. According to de Smet, a collaboration was already successful with the Greens, this in the legislative period 2011.
There will also be a change in the lay judge. In addition to de Smet, Frank Colabianchi and Marc Lang are currently represented. For the Greens, Roger Miller will move in as a lay judge and replace Colabianchi, who remains represented in the local council.
