Neuburg’s building committee is planning the end for unattractive « fake playgrounds »
A single sad play equipment, a loveless playing area, no nature – so child -friendly playgrounds should never look! Unfortunately, the corresponding playing areas are repeatedly implemented in living areas because it has so far stipulated the so -called playground statute so far. Due to a change in the law, no playground statute now has to be maintained, which raised the fundamental question of how to deal with the topic in the future in the Neuburg Building Committee.
So far, for builders, the rule was that building complexes with more than three apartments must be planned for a play area of at least 40 square meters. In exceptional cases, a transfer fee could be paid to avoid the obligation. The result was mostly tiny playgrounds, which were designed so unattractive for families that they usually remain completely unused.
Neuburg wants to check the meaningfulness of the playground statute
This obligation for builders were deleted by the Bavarian Building Regulations at the end of 2024. Neuburg can therefore decide for itself whether the city wants to continue to hold on to a playground statute or not. The municipal building authority itself has now given the proposal to revise the existing statutes in such a way that such « fake playgrounds », as CSU City Councilor Gabriele Kaps referred to, will be avoided in the future.
The fact that you want to change the existing regulation consisted of unity in the committee. However, opinions differed whether an adapted playground statute would make more sense or no more statute. SPD-Test Councilor Ralph Bartoschek clearly spoke out for a statute, in his opinion it is important to guarantee playing areas for families. « If we want a statute, it must make sense, otherwise we can save it right away, » said Green City Councilor Gerhard Schoder. Third Mayor Peter Segeth also agreed, who expressed the proposal to have the topic discussed in the political groups.
Unattractive playgrounds will soon be a thing of the past in Neuburg
For example, the second mayor Johann Habermeyer would like to prioritize a transfer to the mini playgrounds with a new statute. « The small playgrounds are failed and unfriendly in children, » says Habermeyer dissatisfied with the current situation. If you could prefer a transfer fee instead of such play areas, this money would be usable to renovate existing playgrounds or build new, attractive playgrounds. Legal director Ralf Rick said whether such an agreement is legally permissible.
Before a final decision about the playground regulation is made, the political groups should now advise the topic internally. Only then should the decision follow whether the city will adhere to such a statute, if revised.
