Need a special animal rescue service / day

Injured, stray and helpless animals often do not receive help because the state does not offer sufficient support for their treatment and care. Currently, most of these animals are lying on individuals, animal shelters and volunteers who lack resources and the opportunity to help everyone, so they are encouraged to look for national solutions to support the system.

The bureaucratic burden should be reduced

One solution would be to set up a specialized animal rescue service that would respond promptly to calls and a single phone to report to both homes and wildlife that have suffered or endangered people. The operative unit should be provided with the necessary equipment and work outside Latvia. It would also require a state co -financing for veterinary assistance, namely, for urgent animal treatment, sterilization programs for orphaned animals – at the meeting of the Mandate, Ethics and Submissions Commission, where the citizens’ initiative to rescue and helpless animals was encouraged by the initiative. to the animals that come.

The second author of the initiative, Inese Bara, drew attention to the fact that there were three large groups left without defense – not only stray and unhealthy animals responsible for municipalities, but also wildlife demanding to rescue. The third group is in administrative violations and in criminal matters
