Nawrocki’s promises, EU follows « carefully » the situation
The nationalist Karol Nawrocki won the Polish presidential elections with 50.89% of the votes.
Nawrocki spoke about the fact that « Poland needs sovereignty, faith, family. We will no longer accept the dictates in Moscow or Brussels.«
The European Union follows the situation carefully, fearing that Nawrocki’s victory could aggravate the existing tensions between Warsaw and Brussels.
Karol Nawrocki has made several promises in the election campaign, among them, limiting the rights of LGBTQ+communication, reintroducing religious education, a new constitution that deepens the « traditional and Christian » values, stopping « ideological colonization » from the EU, creating a civil garden, rejection of the volat. Russia, « a hostile and revenge power. »
Nawrocki advocates for an allied Polish with the US, skeptical of Brussels.
Karol Nawrocki challenges European policies on migration, ecology and rights of minorities.
Critics accuse him of wants to remove Poland from the European trajectory and turn it into an authoritarian bastion, under covering conservative values.
