NATO does not think about rapprochement with Russia after the war
There will be no normalization of relations with Russia even after the end of the war in Ukraine, NATO Secretary -General Mark Route said on Wednesday.
« This will not happen. It will take decades because there is a complete lack of confidence. The threat is still there … Even if the war is over, the Russian threat is still there, » Ruthe told reporters in Warsaw.
EU promises to be ready for a Russian attack up to five years
Speaking at the Warsaw School of Economics, Rutate said the United States needs European countries to « strengthen » security and that the alliance should become fairer.
« Now it’s not the time to handle it alone. Neither for Europe nor North America. When it comes to maintaining the safety of Europe and North America, there is no alternative to NATO, » Rute said, adding that the challenges facing global security is too great. |
The Secretary -General also said that the nuclear determination capabilities of France and the UK cannot replace those of the United States. Europe relies mainly on the United States for the nuclear umbrella over Europe. President Trump’s concerns about NATO’s weight and efforts to engage Russia have raised doubts in Europe that the United States will fulfill their commitment to protect their allies.
