The trade unions will again find the policy of the De Wever policy on 25 June. Initially there was an action day on 27 June, a date launched by the ABVV, but in consultation with the other two unions – ACV and ACLVB – that day was moved to 25 June.
The new action day falls in the middle of the week, on a Wednesday, while June 27 falls on a Friday, just before the start of the summer holidays.
This time, a « meeting » in Brussels was chosen as a promotion form. If there are very many participants – the trade unions explicitly invite the broad social midfield to participate – it can take the form of a demonstration, it sounds Wednesday. A strike notice is submitted to give employees the opportunity to demonstrate.
« We want to give the signal again before the summer that it cannot continue like this, » says the ABVV. « We are more than a hundred days after the federal government took office and despite promises from the prime minister, there is still no work agenda on the table. That bears witness to a total lack of respect for social consultation, » confirm the fellow unions. They also fear that only « details » can be negotiated and not about the fundamental reforms.
It is remarkable that the liberal trade union also participates this time. That was not the case with the previous action days on March 31 and April 29. At ACLVB it sounds that de facto nothing has changed in its position. « We are against actions such as a national strike or others that lay down the country. But that is not the intention now. Moreover, a survey by our members shows that a two -thirds majority believes that the social consultation should be taken seriously and protest against this is justified, » said the trade union spokesperson.
