National Police Chief is asked about murdered Mohamed


Mohamed from Nässjö lived at HVB homes and had escaped together his friend Layth two years ago. Mohamed was still alive when his mother alerted the police and appealed for help finding his missing son.

His phone could be traced to Gubbängen in Stockholm where he was held prisoner in an apartment and is believed to have been abused for several hours, but the police did not try to track him. No notification or search was made and the police railed in internal calls about calling Mohamed’s mother and speaking her « best Somali » instead of interrogating her with the help of an interpreter, which P4 Jönköping aVsöjed in April this year.

The two 14-year-olds were found murdered, severely abused, in two different places outside Stockholm in July and August 2023. Several men in the criminal network Foxtrot are charged with the murders and the verdict falls today.

Several politicians in the Justice Committee have reacted to the police’s actions and today the Minister of Justice and the National Police Chief are asked in the Justice Committee on the investigation.

– Of course, you wonder if you could have prevented this and you wonder how the police are working to ensure that this will not happen again, says member Ulrika Westerlund (MP) to P4 Jönköping.
