Narva updates city furniture, repairs lighting and playgrounds
Finally, the city paid special attention to dangerous elements of playgrounds, from protruding iron and sharp edges on children’s shells in the near future we will be spared. Also, new benches are installed in the city, lighting will be repaired on the river promenade.
On the threshold of summer
In anticipation of the summer season, Narva updates the city infrastructure.
A new benches are installed on the street on the street. Now 2 large and 8 small benches have appeared here. Urns are installed, it is also planned to install two swings. The work was performed at the expense of city funds as part of the arrangement of a transit road that passes here.
Work is underway to eliminate hazardous elements at children’s and sports grounds, the Department of Urban Economy of the Narva City Council reports. A contract with Gulib Oü for maintenance was concluded, and the contractor has already begun to eliminate dangerous elements at street facilities. The new contract provides for regular control of the condition of the equipment, current maintenance, as well as repair and restoration of structures. In total, there are 55 street facilities on the balance sheet of the department, including 36 children’s playgrounds, 11 sites with street simulators and 8 sports grounds.
“The condition of all sites was analyzed, and the identified hazardous elements were transferred to a contracting company. Residents of the city are asked to continue to inform about damage and dangerous areas,” the department of the city economy said.
More than 20 spotlights in bastions require replacement
As part of the additional budget for 2025, the Department of Municipal Economy allocated 23,773 euros for repair measures. The key area will be updating the architectural backlight covering the walls of the bastions. It is planned to replace 24 spotlights out of 41. It is also considered the possibility of updating street urns, strengthening terrace flooring in the area of sunny hours and ensuring free access to a public toilet in the Lower Promenade. The coloring of the benches will be performed as part of current planned events.
“The safety of children and all inhabitants at public venues is our priority. Thanks to the Narvites for activity and indifference. Together we will make the city space more comfortable and safe,” the Department of Municipal Economy said.
