Narva sketches presented artbook-a guide for interesting places in Estonia
On Saturday in the Narva Central Library, participants in the Sketchy Seiklus sketch club presented artbook, which tells about 14 Estonian farms and towers, which the club participants visited last year.
There are no professional artists in the club that has existed for about 5 years, but all participants are very fond of drawing. As the head of the club Olga Schneider told the Narva newspaper, in the beginning they met a lot for joint sketches, but at some point they wanted to implement more large-scale projects. “I and Katya Muravyova took up the writing of projects with which our community manages to develop my activities,” recalls Schneider. – The first project was supported by the integration fund, called Keel, Kuunts Ja Kultuur, where, through the prism of our hobby – drawing and sketching, we discovered the Estonian language and Estonian culture in Estonia’s museums. We painted a lot of information and work at all our events, and we decided that they need to be preserved. ”
In the third project, held last year, they managed to implement these plans in the book Retked Pintsliga. Julgustavad Lood (traveling with a brush. Inspiring stories), which they presented on Saturday. It tells the stories of enterprising people whose sketches visited. It is written in Estonian; In addition to stories and drawings, there are several pages for the work of the owner of the book. According to the creators of the artbook, the book can become a source of traveling.
From April to September, they visited a private peon mesh, a lavender farm, a farm that is engaged in landscape construction and design, Moemá, where alcohol is made, Mäehansu Talu, where they make cheese from milk and sheep, and know everything about the manufacture of sheep’s wool.
Now Catherine and Olga have already written the next project and, if funding this summer, the sketch club will continue traveling through Estonia. “And if the project is not approved, in any case, we will meet and continue to draw,” said Schneider. “In the spring, they have already planned a trip to the Sillavi Museum.”
The book was published in a small circulation – only 80 copies, the cost is 7 €. For purchase, you can write to their Sketchy Seiklus group on Facebook. There are several books in the Narva Library, where on the same floor, until April 12, an exhibition of works of participants in the sketch club was also opened.
