The Narva City Hall plans to make officials more affordable services. To do this, on the ground floor of the building at 3 Petrovskaya Square, in the premises of the former tourist information information center, a modern and convenient customer reception and comfortable for users will be created.
Any Narvityan, who at least once had to “solve the question” with the officials of Goroprava, knows that in the maze of entrances and offices in the representative building on Petrovskaya Square it is very easy to get lost and it is not easy to find a way out. Legends say that since 1986, the applicant for the allocation of the garage is still wandering along the floors …
But seriously, the Narva City Hall plans to make communication with officials easier. For this, a public reception will be created in the premises of the former tourist infancy.
“An elderly lady is not just to find the desired office on the third or fourth floor of the council. To receive a certificate or affix, this is excessive efforts. The reception room will allow, first of all, to the elderly, to save time and effort,” says the mayor of Narva Katri Raik.
After the meeting, the official will wait in the reception on the ground floor of the building. A person who needs a meeting will not have to wandering in search of the right cabinet, “overtake the thresholds” and endlessly “go into the wrong door”.
In response, silence
One of the readers of the Narva newspaper told the editorial office that he had contacted the city hall on one small issue twice-in April last year and in April 2025. He never received an answer, his letter was not even entered into the register of city documents.
“I hope that such cases are really rare. If the official does not answer the question, it is worth writing the head of the relevant department, and if this does not bear fruit, you need to write to the mayor. I will draw organizational conclusions,” Raik explains.
The press service of the city hall in their commentary to the Narva Gazeta notes that it is not always possible to fulfill the letter of the law and answer within the prescribed time (today -15 days). Sometimes a city dweller arranges a bombardment with requests, sending a dozen letters in a few hours.
Until 2019, there was an info -ceiling in the Narva City Hall, according to which it was always possible to cope in which department to send his question and on what days the right official accepts. “With the last change in the structure of the council, this position was abolished, but when creating the reception, there will again be the opportunity to tying all questions on one phone number,” says Katri Raik.
The registry office will move to Petrovskaya
Another planned innovation is the transfer of the registry office to the city center. At the end of the project (2027), scolders will be able to take walks in wedding outfits directly to the “wedding tree” in Fortun’s bastion. In addition to improving the physical environment, digital services will also develop – for example, it is planned to introduce electronic applications, which will allow you to conduct business over the Internet. This will reduce the need for a physical visit to the service point and accelerate bureaucratic processes.
The total project cost is up to 370,854 euros, of which up to 259,597 euros (70%) will be covered from the European Fund of Regional Development. Co -financing from the city will be 111,257 euros.
Michael: To whom he addressed (issues of urban economy, education, culture and sports), they always answered quickly and informatively, but sometimes it has to be reminded of themselves. It is likely to dismiss anyone, but a deep analysis is needed here. For salaries that officials receive, the queue is not worth it, and the requirements are very high.
Konstantin: They answer slowly and evasively, you have to remind.
Alex: They answered all the questions that were in their competence. But, as I understand it, it does not always work with everyone and does not always work. One and the same official can do the same with a middle -aged person, that is, confident in himself, and with a pensioner.
