Narva Museum opens the season of large -scale summer events


This summer, the Narva Museum invites all lovers of history and family with children to discover a unique cultural heritage on the eastern border of Estonia. From June to September, the powerful walls of Herman Castle and the Western Dvor busy with the atmosphere will become an arena of international festivals, medieval adventures, musical impressions and exciting excursions that transfer ancient stories to the context of today.

The season opens June 28–29 The Granious Program of the Esto 2025 festivals and the days of the city of Narva, which will unite Estonians from all over the world in the Narva Castle, will tell about the rich past of the border city and offer residents and guests of the city master classes, concerts and family entertainment.

July 5-6 During the days of Livonia, the museum will transfer visitors to a distant past. On Saturday, the Narva Castle will turn into a true medieval fortress with knightly tournaments, a craft market and authentic workshops. On Sunday, thematic excursions will take place, revealing the life of the castle and the city from various directions. The entrance to the Saturday Event in the open air is free.

July 11–13 Narva will cover the roar of motors and rhythms of rock music-Narva BikeFest will collect hundreds of motorcycles, a spectacular show and legendary performers. The culmination of the festival will be the performance of a cult Scottish rock band Nazareth. A unique atmosphere is created at the junction of history and modern energy.

July 19–20 The days of the Swedish king will remind of the times of Swedish rule. On the same weekend, the exhibition “Symbols on the verge” dedicated to the heraldry of Narva and Virumaa, as well as the art of flags and emblems, will open. The exposition will tell how symbolism reflects the role of the region in the history of Estonia and emphasizes the special position of Narva at the junction of European and Russian influence.

August 20on the day of the restoration of Estonia’s independence, the museum invites to a family day, filled with joyful moments for all generations.

August 30 Evening lights will lighten the ancient walls of the old castle, and the final chord of the museum summer on September 5–6 will be the Station Narva music festival. This year, Tommy Cash, Nublu, Tõnu Naissoo Freeform Quintet, Vaiko Eplik & Eliit, INGA and the Danish indie legend of Efterklang will perform.

Summer program The excursions that reveal the rich history of Narva and its environs are complemented by the beach culture and resort stories of Narva-Yesuu, the “golden” Narva of the XVII century of the Swedish Empire, an extreme tour of the Joala factory, the giant industrial empire of Krenholm and the underground passages of the Bastions of Cristles. All tours were developed by museum experts and are suitable for both beginners and permanent fans of the city.

The entire summer season, the North courtyard will be open for free visit. Surrounded by the historical atmosphere of guests, meets the summer cafe Maitsepaik, where you can refresh with drinks, try seasonal tastes and enjoy the vacation before or after visiting the museum.

The Narva Museum is not just a pearl of a border city. This is the place where the history of Estonia comes to life. Cross the threshold of the castle, go through the centuries and share these impressions with loved ones!
