Narva guys have been working on dubbing Japanese animation for more than six years
Have you ever heard of anime? For many, this word sounds mysterious, but for millions of viewers around the world it is a special type of animation from Japan. Unlike the usual animated animated films, it has its own unique aesthetics, deep plots and a special style of voice acting, conveying a wide range of emotions – from joy to grief. In Narva there is a team that does it at a professional level.
Their project is called anilegue.tv, and for more than six years the guys have been working on the dubbing of Japanese animation, putting all their passion and talent into the process.
What is anime and why is it special?
Anime is not just Japanese animated series, it is a whole industry that includes many genres and styles. Some anime series, or, as fans call them, the titles, tell serious dramatic stories, others are filled with action, science fiction or romance. In Japan, such animated series are popular among people of all ages, from children to adults. Many series are based on manga – Japanese comics, which also are in great demand.
What makes anime special? First of all, this is the style of the drawing – large expressive eyes of the characters, dynamic animation and unusual color solutions. Secondly, deep topics are often raised in the anime, such as friendship, honor, family relationships and even philosophical issues. Thirdly, the special voice acting-Japanese Seiu (Dubbing Actors) are known for their emotional and expressive manner of performance. That is why work on Russian -speaking voice acting requires great efforts and a professional approach.
International team
The ANILEAGUE.TV team is not only in the residents of Narva, but also the guys from different countries – Germany, Russia, Ukraine. Most of the work takes place at the studio in the Narva branch of IDA-Viruma Kutsehariduskeskus (Creencholmi, 45), which is one of the most technically equipped in Estonia. Since the team members are studying in this school, they are given the opportunity to voice projects as part of the educational process. This is a great opportunity for students to develop their skills and put theoretical knowledge in practice. If the project is non -profit, actors can record replicas at home using their own equipment.
The studio is engaged not only in the voice acting of Japanese anime series, in a piggy bank of experience-participation in the voice acting of commercials and even video games. Anileague.tv accepts paid orders from different projects, mainly advertising, however, under the terms of contracts, the team cannot disclose the names of the customer companies and the details of these works.
How the voice acting process goes
Sounding anime is a complex process that requires not only a good voice, but also acting. Official studios acquire dubbing rights, use professional equipment and attract experienced actors to convey all the emotions and atmosphere of the original work. Their work is broadcast through licensed services and television channels, providing the audience with high -quality translation and professional adaptation.
In addition to official studios, there are amateur projects, such as Anilegue.TV, working on pure enthusiasm. Although they have no large budgets and rights to distribution, they adapt anime using ready -made subtitles and create their own dubbing. Such voice acts spread among fans through specialized sites and social networks, allowing a wide audience to enjoy your favorite series in their native language.
Who is for anileague.tv
Anileague.tv – This is not just a community of anime lovers, but a real studio where 19 people work. Among them are not only voice actors, but also sound engineers, designers, directors, system administrators.
Many of the participants in the studio were trained in the international school of the “Bubbleage” voice acting, where the teachers are graduates of such prestigious educational institutions as VGIK and Schukinsky School. These professionals handed the children the key skills in working with the voice, proper pronunciation, control of intonation and emotional transmission of the text. It is thanks to this level of training anileague.tv that achieves high quality dubbing.
“We started with cheap microphones for 3 euros and records at home, but over time we went to the studio level,” says Alexander Kostarev, head of anileague.tv, student IDA-Virumaa Kutsehariduskeskus. – Now we are working with professional equipment, we are learning from experts and with each project we strive to become better. Our main reward is the emotions of the audience who write us gratitude from all over the world. ”
Each participant in the studio came to voice acting in his own way. So, the designer and actress of the voice acting Anastasia Zhitinskaya says that work on dubbing helped her “open her voice” and believe in herself. The actor and manager for working with customers Vladimir Ionov notes that voice acting helps to overcome the fear of public performances and learn to work with the voice. And Nikita Naumov, one of the actors of the voice acting, came to the profession through a hobby: at first he simply repeated replicas for the heroes of his beloved anime, and then he realized that he wanted to do this at a serious level.
How it all began
The idea to create a studio came during the quarantine period due to Pandemia of Coronavirus. Alexander Kostarev invited friends to try to voice one series of anime using a cheap microphone. Despite technical restrictions, the result inspired the team, and the guys began to study with professionals.
Over time, a lot of works appeared in their piggy bank, but one of the key projects was a “blade that dissecting the demons”. It was with him that the story of anileague.tv began, and today it is one of the most important titles for the studio. “We developed with the heroes, grew up with them, with each new season, improving the quality of work,” says Alexander.
Music and anime: Russian -speaking opening
Music plays a huge role in the titles, and the title songs – openings – become an integral part of the atmosphere of the film. Anileague.tv collaborates with vocalists of the Pale Alison group, who record Russian -speaking title songs of anime. Their work gives the products of the exclusivity studio.
Elizaveta Anostyanova, vocalist of the Narva rock band Pale Alison, in addition to recording songs for the studio, is also engaged in voice acting in Anilegue.tv. “As for the openings, I just like them. These are not only beautiful melodies with an interesting musical structure, but also a deep melody, and sometimes such a rhythm that is unusual for our culture, she shares her impressions. – The recording of these songs requires considerable effort, because it is important to convey all the emotions laid down in the text, do it in the native language and put the whole soul in order to maintain the meaning and atmosphere of ophening. Although I, in principle, are not a fan of Japanese animated series and fantastic plots, I am attracted by the variety of anime culture. This is a huge world where everyone will find their own place – even in voice acting. ”
Voice – not for everyone
Although the studio is open to new talents, this does not mean that anyone can join it. “We carefully approach the choice of new participants. Both acting experience and musical education are important to us. We ask the candidates to start performing small tasks in order to evaluate their abilities and approach to voice acting, ”the guys from the team say.
